It’s been a busy couple of weeks, but one where nothing much noteworthy has happened. Well, noteworthy is the wrong word, because I did buy a new phone after mine started behaving erratically. I decided to opt for a new iPhone, which really is a treat. I have to say, the camera is incredible. All of my photos in today’s post have been taken on it (and some filters used too). It won’t always replace my camera, but it’s definitely a viable option.
I’ve also had an eye test and I’m waiting for my new specs after my eyes got worse, AGAIN. Aside from that though, it’s mostly been concentrating on learning my new job.
I did get home after a trip out for lunch this week to find the chap had sent me some lovely spring flowers. I think I fell for false spring with such joy, that this week’s grey skies and cold temperatures have really thrown me. These thoughtful flowers brightened up my day again, and continue to brighten up my living room.
Yesterday we popped out for some shopping. Just down to one of the out of town shopping places near York. We decided to stop off at Mama Doreen’s, which is a delightful little tea room, for lunch before hitting the shops. Whilst I didn’t plump for the afternoon tea, little Miss did.
The joy of pouring your own apple juice from a gold teapot can’t be bettered.

I did plump for this Pavlova though |
I mostly bought bits of junk, including this fabulous little bag charm that’s gone straight on my handbag, which this week is my beloved Mulberry Bayswater that I bought around 5 years ago, preloved. I love hanging tat on my bags, Jane Birkin style. The other decoration is a bracelet that little Miss made for me ages ago.
Today, the weather has been hit and miss, so I put my raincoat on and Thelma’s too and we went for a walk to the beach.
It was delightfully quiet with just a few other dog walkers, and getting caught in a couple of rain showers didn’t bother us at all.
I had cockles, just because it’s ages since I’ve had some. Then I sat outside a cafe with an Americano and watched the world go by. It’s these out of season days that remind me why I moved to Scarborough in the first place.
Thelma’s sleeping all of the walking off now, but I’m sure she’ll wake up when dinner is served.
There's something fascinating about seaside towns out of season, Scarborough looks vert atmospheric captured on your new phone.
ReplyDeleteThelma is so cute and that's a lovely photo of Little Miss with her fancy teapot! xxx
I'm loving those Spring flowers the chap sent you, and how cute is that photo of Little Miss pouring apple juice from that fancy teapot! Your Pavlova looks utterly delicious!
ReplyDeleteI'm agreeing with Vix that Scarborough looks very atmospheric in spite of the gloomy weather! xxx
Yay on your new phone. Looks like a lovely few days.
